The long-serving Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Mudashiru Obasa, has been impeached following a dramatic turn of events at the Assembly Monday morning.

All the lawmakers at Monday’s plenary session voted for the impeachment of Mudashiru Obasa (Agege 1) over allegations of misconduct and abuse of office.


In a swift move, the Deputy Speaker, Mojisola Metanda (Apapa 1) has been sworn in as the new Speaker of the House.
